How to get the best from Pet Remedy.

A great advantage of Pet Remedy apart from being a natural option, is the unique way in which it works. It starts to help instantly and is very gentle in its calming effect.

The low concentration Valerian based formulation works with the pet’s (all mammals, birds, and reptiles) natural calming pathways.

This means the actives in the Pet Remedy formulation mimic GABA (the natural calming agent in mammals) and thus help trick fired up / excited nerve cells (when the pet is stressed or anxious) into thinking they are getting a message from the brain to calm.

Remember Pet Remedy only helps calm excited nerves so there is still this matter of learnt (reactive) behaviour to deal with.  Often your pet will still react / behave for a while in the same way as when stressed or anxious even if their nerve cells are calmed.

For instance if the doorbell goes, a dog may still react by barking.

But once calm, the pet becomes more settled and more receptive to you, so you can then work on developing confidence and work on behaviour modification.

Pet Remedy is now used on a daily basis by vets, vet nurses, rescue centres, pet professionals (such as behaviourists, trainers, and groomers), and even zoos all over the world!

Plug Diffuser

Locate the plug diffuser in room where your pet spends the most time.

Ambient and constant slow release makes Pet Remedy all the more effective.

Suitable for all pets including birds and reptiles.

Starts to help instantly and will help with separation anxiety, bonding, fireworks , new home,  bereavement, new pet in home, and any other stressful situation.

Calming Sprays 200ml & 15ml

The calming spray is water based and pH neutral.  Use for travel and in the home.

Spray on pet bedding, bandana, or even a little on your fingers and gently rub around muzzle, under chin, and top of chest!

You only need a couple of sprays and this will last between 2 and 6 hours depending on the individual pet.

For bonding rabbits, spray a little on a damp cloth or fingers and gently rub around muzzles of rabbits.  This helps with scent swapping as well as calming, which in turn helps speed up the bonding process. This same procedure can be used for bonding other pets such as dogs, cats, rodents, and horses.

As a rule, best not to spray directly on a pet. This avoids any association of the spray with the stressful situation.

Avoid spraying in the proximity of small mammals and birds as they have small lung capacity. Best to spray a little on a cloth and then place the cloth near them.

When out walking or training an anxious dog, spray a little on a bandana or spray a little on a damp` cloth or your fingers and gently rub around the muzzle and top of chest. Same applies for horses.

You can even spray a little on your trouser leg and bring the dog to heel to take in the actives!

Individual Calming Wipes

Use the eco-friendly wipe in the same way as you would with the calming spray by gentle rubbing around muzzle, under chin and top of chest of your pet (including horses!).

Or you can rub on your fingers before handling an anxious pet.

It can be used to wipe down surfaces such as an examination or grooming bench top.

You can also tie to a cat basket when travelling to vet or place on bedding in home and car!

Battery Operated Atomiser

The atomiser uses the same water based pH neutral formulation as for the calming sprays and individual calming wipes.

Locate at least 4 feet from the ground to ensure the water based mist disperses into the room.

Usual setting is on 30 minutes.

Ideal for locations where there is no electrical socket for a plug diffuser, such as conservatories, boats, caravans, stables, horse boxes and trailers.

Pet Remedy

Does Pet Remedy smell of anything?

The formulation comprises a unique blend of absolute and essential oils. Valerian has a distinctive earthy and quite pungent aroma. This derives from the acids in the oil (valerenol and isovalerianic acid) which we cannot neutralise without compromising the special calming properties. So instead, we work with this aroma and blend the Valerian absolute oil with Vetiver, Basil, and Clary Sage, which all have their own distinctive smell and individual calming properties.

Pet Remedy

“This was recommended by a vet nurse after I had difficulty rebonding two rabbits after one had been at the vets for a couple of days. It smells pleasant, is water based so safe if the rabbits lick it, and works quickly. Two happy rabbits again. Strongly recommend.”

Pet Remedy

“One of my two bunnies recently had to be taken to the vet as he was unwell. His bonded lady friend gets very stressed when travelling but Pet Remedy calmed her down really well. So much so that she decided to stay with him while he spent two nights in hospital.”
