PS.. mummy had the first bath and baby.. Ozzy.. tomorrow..
I always keep Pet Remedy handy as by dog is upset by fireworks and sadly they seem to go off any time of the year. I have both a plug in and spray that I can put on her bandana so she get the most benefit . She is still aware of the fireworks but it does take the edge off her reaction and she recovers much quicker when the noise stops. I like using natural products and I trust this one.
Love Pet Remedy has such an instant impact on my dog and cats. Very reasonable priced and love the leave in conditioner for dogs. Cost is shiny and lovely but she is calm on bathtime
Great service from Pet Remedy. We run a small dog training club and always include a calming wipe in our end of course packs. Our members appreciate receiving them and have had success using them during stressful situations.
5.0 out of 5 stars Hope it works
We have purchased it to calm (hopefully) our dog around bonfire night, and the run up etc., so we have not plugged it in yet. No issues around the seller, price or delivery - all good. If it does calm our dog then I will reorder it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Helps excitable and anxious dog
This really helps calm a very excitable, anxious dog quickly. No real odour given off of it and seems to last well been using 2 weeks so far and the level of the fluid has barely dropped.
5.0 out of 5 stars Calming for my dogs
It really is very helpful to distress my dogs
4.0 out of 5 stars Bear with it
When it’s initially plugged in, it smells horrendous, but after 24 hours I’ve noticed the smell drastically reduced and my dog is calmer. I’m hoping to see further improvements. I’m impressed so far, especially with the reasonable cost.
This product is amazing! I have a one year old working line German shepherd that has just had hip surgery and I have really struggled keeping him calm and relaxed while he recovers, even with medication. His physiotherapist tried out the pet therapy spray and I noticed a difference immediately! I then purchased the plug in and what a game changer! The first time I used it he slept for 3 hours!! He has been a different dog since I’ve been using this and it has helped his recovery so much as he struggles to switch off and rest. I still can’t believe the difference in my boy, even guests have commented on how much calmer he is! If you have a dog that struggles to switch off and calm down this product is the one to go for! 10/10 highly recommend!
I have a very anxious chihuahua puppy, something I've never encountered before despite having owned dogs all my long life. I find him very challenging. The instant I put the bandana and spray on him he went into his bed and slept. It's not a cure and I don't leave it on all the time. It doesn't help in stimulating circumstances, ie visitors but I do believe it settles him in the evenings. I think a velcro fastening would be easier and safer.
4.0 out of 5 stars What is it doing?
I have had this plugged in for quite a few weeks now but have no noticeable difference. I will keep it going because I hope it has some calming effects on my dog!
5.0 out of 5 stars Calming plug in
Always use it to keep my dogs calm as I have moved and they need to settle, also invaluable on bonfire night and new year.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works!!!
I read the reviews and was unsure if I would be able to deal with the smell as the reviews were mixed around this. I can honestly say I can't smell it at all, if I get really close I would say it smells faintly of citrus, nothing nasty. As for if it works - yes it did for my dog and cat, the cat is new and the dog isn't sure of him, when he jumps the dog barks, that's led to the car hissing at her, the dog then avoided the cat, not even walking past the cat but after 2 hrs of the plug in being on they were sleeping on the same settee, I'd say that was progress!!!
4.0 out of 5 stars Just plug it in and let it do it’s thing
Did just what it was suppose to do, calm my puppy down.
5.0 out of 5 stars Really do work!
A friend recommended these to help calm my very anxious dachshund during bonfire night. She was shaking and absolutely terrified, so we used a wipe and within minutes she was snuggled up and so much more comfortable and relaxed. The wipes are quite dry so do not soak the dog, and neither of my dogs seem to dislike them. Simple and effective
5.0 out of 5 stars Works well
Since my older dog died my other dog has become very jumpy and just not herself. Opening the oven, washing dishes putting washing machine on to name a few has her running! It’s hard to try and help her, I’ve tried ALOT of products and this seems to be the only one that helps! No she is not completely herself but she is also not as bad as she was. I’m just hoping this continues to help her and her anxiety
5.0 out of 5 stars Works like a charm
I have two kittens, one of which was almost feral when I got him a week ago. He wasn't litter trained, was scared of everything. He now does his business in the tray, comes to us for cuddles and plays with my other kitten. I also have a nervous dog who is scared of loud noises, New Years Eve is normally a nightmare for him. This year he was chilled and calm. The smell isn't the nicest to humans, but you get used to it fairly quickly. I recommend this if you have issues with your fur babies.
5.0 out of 5 stars Seems to work
Much cheaper than rival brands and last a couple of months. Does seem to have worked. Left it near where my dog sleeps when I’m not home.
5.0 out of 5 stars It works
Brought very sceptical Got this as my dog reacted to fireworks this year shaking crying and panting he’s 55kg so when looking for somewhere to hide he’s way to big this worked recommend to all pet owners
5.0 out of 5 stars Plug and go
Use with the wipes (sold separately) Used together this does wonders. Not perfect, but it aides our dog to get a grip of herself and try calming down herself. It sounds stupid doesn’t it? Wipes and a diffuser? Trust me. We’ve gone from scratching and tearing our upstairs carpet when fireworks are going off, to a much more milder rapid manic dog!
4.0 out of 5 stars Ok
Not sure if works or not but dogs still bark & get anxious
5.0 out of 5 stars Finally!
Finally found a product that really work for our dog. Takes about 20-30min to really notice the difference and see our dog calm, thats really good!
5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant plugs for calming pets
These plugs really work as my little dog is terrified of fireworks. He goes under the bed with the plug on and looks much calmer.
5.0 out of 5 stars Always works
The best pet calmer there is. Takes 10 minutes to kick in. Always use it wjen we leave the house to soothe our very people dependent cats. Passed it to my mum for her 2 dogs and does just the same. If you want to double make sure youre pets are calm use the plug in. And the spray. Spray the spray in your palms and wipe it down your pets coats.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works for our dog so far
Worked almost immediately. Our dog has issues with separation anxiety as well as being very overactive when someone comes home and just general zoomies like crazy in the evenings despite all the walking and playing outside during the day. We plugged this and used it one evening and there was a noticiable difference. He was more chill but still played and was happy to lay down and when my partner arrived home there was none of the usual barking and jumping up! We will likely only use it in the evening and possibly trial it at night too but will leave it off the rest of the day as it has had quiet an affect on him! We will have to wait and see see if it works at all for his separation anxiety when we are both out, fingers crossed.
4.0 out of 5 stars Worked a little too well!
You might want to bring out a small dog and a big dog diffuser - I bought this for my yorkie when we moved house because he was getting stressed with all the boxes. Within a couple of hours he was calm, then he became really lethargic and even struggled to climb the stairs. I thought he was just unsure about his new surroundings, but the next day I realised what it must be. I unplugged it and within a few hours he was back to his old self. I might save it for bonfire night and New Years! As for the smell - there isn’t one!
5.0 out of 5 stars It works
After trying countless calming remedies, I've finally found one that works on my dog, its easy to apply works quickly re - apply every 2 or 3 hours for a chilled out dog, fairly cheap to buy I've wasted a lot more money on rubbish product that doesn't work, but Pet Remedy can't fault it.
5.0 out of 5 stars They are working for my dog
I have just got a rescue and although I am very experienced training dogs that haven't any previously, this is by far the most damaged dog I have had - even frightened of the water in his bowl. I have used these tablets for two days now and combined with an infuser and calming collar I am now able to tackle the issues this poor abused animal has. He can now drink from his bowl, pass a door - go figure, a real problem for him. and with encouragement he can now go in an out of the house. Amazing for a dog who would cower if I even stood up.
4.0 out of 5 stars Definitely helps
Got for new puppy to adjust to living with the cat, took some time but tjink it made a difference. Only snag is it leaks a bit
5.0 out of 5 stars It works for us
I have used other Pet Remedy products with good results with a stressed dog, so I thought I would try this for the firework season (which seems to last for ever these days) and I do think it helped, so now I have a new puppy I have been using it to help calm the household and once again have had good results. As for smell of product, not really noticed it being bad and certainly prefable to some of the scented plug-ins that can smell too sweet for me.
4.0 out of 5 stars On my second order.
It's difficult to tell if these actually work as our dog is also on anti anxiety meds. However, combined with the spray on a bandana and his thundershirt, his anxiety attacks with fireworks are not as longlasting.
4.0 out of 5 stars Overpowering smell
I accidentally bought this product after bringing home a new puppy thinking it was an adaptil refill, but thought I'd give it a try anyway. Unfortunately the smell was just too much and made the whole house smell awful. I've since reverted back to the adaptil plugin, where there is no scent. If it wasn't so smellie, I would of given it more of a chance, but just couldn't bare it after 4 days.
4.0 out of 5 stars Almost thought I’d was a bust
I brought this to try and sooth my cat that is the definition of a scaredy-cat. I decided to try this as it is considerably cheaper that the market leading product and I was sceptical if a product like this would even work. I have 3 pets in total but I specifically brought it to calm down my female feline. Within days of installing it was clear my dog and male cat liked it and took to laying on the floor by the diffuser. I would say it took about 6 weeks before I really noticed my female feline was starting to show any signs of it working on her. She was such a scaredy-cat that the only place she would happily let you fuss her and touch her without panic was on my bed, we’ll call that her safe space. Now around 9 weeks since I first plugged it in we can finally walk up to her and give her a fuss outside of the main bedroom albeit a slow walk up to her. I’ll see if the refills see any more improvement from her behaviour.
4.0 out of 5 stars Seems to help
I had this for the Fireworks week and I must say that it seemed to help. I also put it on when I leave for work and my dog hasn't shown as much anxiety since I've been using this plug-in. I can't smell much as I'm getting over Covid so I have no idea what the scent is like! I'm pretty happy with this overall and would probably buy a refill when it runs out.
5.0 out of 5 stars It works!
My rommie rescue boy is terrified of the loud bang from fireworks. I've tried calming collars, calming supplements, conditioning him to noise, a calming wrap and finally a calming head wrap. Not one thing has worked. I read reviews about the Pet Remedy plug in and decided to give it a go. It's been brilliant! Harvey was laid on me, I was stroking him to try and relax him. Even though I had the TV on loud, we could hear the bangs. Normally he would jump up, bark like crazy and run around very distressed. He heard them and had a minor growl, but didn't budge from the sofa. I honestly expected him to, I'm amazed to be honest. This product is brilliant and I'm more than happy to recommend it to anyone with a nervous dog!
4.0 out of 5 stars Cat sedated by an awful smell
I bought this for my cat and I noticed a difference instantly. It’s almost like she was sedated. Very effective but I didn’t wish to use it for the long term. As soon as I unplugged it, she went back to her normal excitable self which I’ve learnt to love and adore (as I’m not too sure what kind of long term affect this would have had on her). I bought the same for my mothers dog, and it didn’t work sadly. It may have been the size difference. My cat is 3kg and the dog is 40kg so perhaps it works best on smaller animals. My downfall to this product is that it stinks. Whenever you walk past it, the smell is unpleasant and for a split second you think you’ve got something on the bottom of your shoe. Overall it did work on the cat, but not on the dog, and it doesn’t smell nice. Good value for money as it’s cheaper than the bigger brands.
As a full time dog walker I can highly recommend Pet Remedy for my dogs and my customers. It really works!
4.0 out of 5 stars Does have a smell but works great!
I have this near the front door as during the day when everyone else is out my cavapoo barks at the slightest noise outside (hes fine when everyone is in the house in the evenings). I plugged it in right away as the dog was at the groomers and I'll be honest I didnt think it made that much of a difference. After 48 hours I noticed an unusual smell near the front door, similar to damp mixed with fish oil smell. Whether its just this bottle that is giving off a smell or if all of them do I'm not sure but I don't like it and the kids have also complained about the weird smell. I unplugged it right away. Needless to say the plug was actually making a massive difference to the dogs general state of mind and I have plugged it back in. The dog still barks but is much more relaxed and barks at someone knocking the door rather than just loud noises outside, he plays more and is generally a little more self assured it seems. I'm currently trying to find another plug that will work for us because it is not the kind of smell I want right as you walk in but currently I have a wax melt in the same vicinity to mask the smell (which is not difficult to do) Overall I'm very happy with the product but would just like to make people aware that YES IT DOES HAVE A SMELL TO IT and no its not a very desirable one.
4.0 out of 5 stars easy to use and will last 8 weeks
We bought this product as a cheaper alternative to Adaptil as we we going to be settling a new puppy into our house alongside our dog so we wanted to create a nice calming environment in which to do so. We set up 2 diffusers, one in the lounge and another further into the house so that we could cover all areas. We also bought the spray for concentrated application in certain areas. The difussers were easy to set up and plug in and they last for about 8 weeks each. Upon initial set-up the smell is quite strong but this does ease after a couple of days, still lingers though and as previously stated in another review the smell is not a pleasant one although it is worth it for the calming environment it creates. It does seem to bring the dogs down to a calmer level and we will be taking them on holiday with us.
4.0 out of 5 stars Works Well With The Spray
This product does smell a bit odd when you first plug it in, but you soon get used to the smell. I have this plugged the landing upstairs as I was using it to help my dog settle at night (a 1 1/2 year old cavalier) as he always wanted to sleep in our bed and cried terribly when he didn't get his way. Have been using with the spray, which I put on his bed 10 minutes before he goes in it. Along with a heavy play session before bedtime, he did sleep in his bed for the first time without crying all night. A week on and he's still staying in his own bed! Would recommend but you need to use along side other products and training techniques.
5.0 out of 5 stars Calmed my 2 adult cats when a kitten arrived in the house.
I have one dog, two adult cats and recently got a kitten. My dog was happy with a new playmate, but my adult cats became quite skittish and nervous. One of them would even refuse to come in at night, so I looked at Feliway diffusers and sprays at first and soon saw the huge cost and thought there must be a less costly option! To my relief I came across these. Read LOTS of reviews and decided to give them a go. It took a good 5 days to see some sort of change in the adult cats behaviour. All the animals sniffed around the diffusers and sussed them out. They began to calm down and would happily stay in close proximity to the kitten, whereas they would flee the room before if she came to close to them. They then would sit next to her. Now they are good friends! I still have one diffuser plugged in, but may see what happens if I turn it off for a day. My parents also have this for their elderly cat as he pees/poops all over the house, despite being the only animal in the house. Since having this plugged in he has stopped all messing. He is more friendly and will sit closer to people he doesn't know. BUT, when the diffuser ran out one day, he went back to his old ways! So he must need it plugged in constantly. Be warned, the 'odour' that comes from the diffuser is not particularly nice. At first I thought it smelled like one of the animals had messed somewhere. I often use oil burners or incense sticks in the house, so became used to it's smell. But my parents really don't like the smell, but put up with it as it helps the cat!

How to stop a dog barking by looking after their emotional wellbeing

Barking is not bad behaviour. It is communication. If you focus only on silencing the noise you will miss the message your dog is trying to send and the barking will pop up again somewhere else. The quickest route to a quieter home is usually the one people avoid: getting serious about your dog’s emotional…
